Local farmers, Paul Archibald and Adrian Breck of Nisthouse and Ludenhill farms to the east of Birsay on Orkney have joined forces with renewable energy developer Infinergy Ltd to progress plans to develop a wind farm site on their land.

Kari Clouston, Project Manager for the proposed development said: “We at Infinergy are delighted to be working so closely with the two land-owners on this project. Their local knowledge and experience of working the land will be invaluable in helping develop the best proposal for the site.”

A Scoping Request for a development of up to 4 wind turbines was submitted to Orkney Islands Council on 2nd March 2020. Responses to this scoping request from key consultees (local and national) will help to define the required environmental studies and site information needed to then complete the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA Report) which will be submitted along with the planning application. This full planning application is expected to be submitted in summer 2022.

All of the application documents can be found in the Downloads section of this site.
