Following Orkney Islands Council’s vote to be ‘minded to approve’ the 4-turbine scheme near Birsay on West Mainland in November, in spite of an objection from Historic Environment Scotland, the Scottish Government used its powers to ‘call-in’ the application for further scrutiny.

On Monday 7 July, a pre-examination meeting will be held with all of the involved parties as well as the Reporter appointed, to discuss and agree the procedural arrangements for the inquiry.  Details of the inquiry itself will be posted in due course.
